The Tab key is used as a quick way to indent before a paragraph. Also the ruler can be used to do an indent instead of using the tab key.The first-line indent marker looks like a down arrow that allows you to only adjust the first-line. The hanging indent marker looks like a down arrow that adjusts the hanging indent. The left indent marker that looks like a box moves both the first line and all the lines that follow. Indent commands can be found on the home tab in the paragraph group. The Tab key when clicked moves the insertion point ½ inch to the right. This can be changed by adding tab stops to the ruler. Line spacing is the space between each line in a paragraph. Single spacing is one line high. Double spacing is two lines high. The Enter key is normally used when going to a new paragraph. The space before and after a heading can be removed or added by going to the line spacing icon and hitting the drop down arrow and select the command you want Word to perform.
