Too busy to take any pictures: attempting to play the horn (successfully :-) ), conducting Mars (others might call it a fitness workout), concentrating on getting the Glockenspiel rhythm right - what an engaging exhibition! And I suppose I have never explored an orchestra in so much detail.

Mesmerising .. stirring music at any time .. and the multidimensional setting is a terrific multiplier .. I loved watching the musicians when they WEREN'T playing!

Performing alongside this installation has been one of the most exciting and innovative things I've ever been involved with. It has been such a fantastic opportunity to play with the Philharmonia and communicating with audiences of different ages about my instrument [oboe] and what it is like to be a musician has been extremely rewarding and insightful, particularly with the schools. This is an amazing installation and a great opportunity for members of the public to experience a professional performance of such a brilliant piece and for them to gain a realistic perspective of what it's like to be in an orchestra. I played The Planets 21 times in total and never got bored of it - which says a lot about how fascinating I found the installation. I managed to see or hear something new every time. I would be more than happy to participate in something like this again!
