Hello

I am Danielle Barone and I am the Performance Sous Chef for the New York Giants Football Team. I am from Staten Island, New York and graduated Johnson & Wales in 2019. I have a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Nutrition with a focus in Food Science. I am pursuing my micro-certification in Sports Nutrition to help me gain new knowledge to help fuel athletes . While my job allows me to pursue my dream of cooking it also allows me to use my nutrition knowledge to create new menu ideas and create healthy and nutritious food items.

When I am not working I enjoy being with my dog and family, watching football on Sunday's and working out! While I am not sure what my future end goal is, I do see myself working in sports and in a kitchen setting using both my culinary and nutrition knowledge to help educate and fuel top athletes.

I find nutrition interesting because I believe in the concept that food is fuel that keeps the body going. By combining my nutrition degree and culinary degree I can use food as a common language to help build the bridge of eating healthy and fueling the body for top performance.

At the end of this course I would like to know how to better educate macronutrients to athletes as many have this common knowledge that counting macros are the best way to lose weight and this tends to make people become obsessed with tracking. I want to be able to help people create a health relationship with food and exercising.
