Start asking them about their cohort theme and I think much fewer of them will get it. And if we ask them about the specifics of their theme I suspect almost none of them will be able to say it. We have tried using extrinsic rewards and affirming students who are actively participating in class discussions in hope to improve the HBL attendance.
