  1. From your Dashboard, there is a +MAKE A PADLET button in the top right corner
  2. Start with a remake. Remake allows you to make a copy of a padlet to use as a template for your own work.

You can enter a link, drag and drop a file, or take a photo from your phone/webcam. 

File types you can attach include:
  • video (ex. recorded, YouTube, Vimeo)
  • audio (ex. recorded, Spotify, Soundcloud)
  • documents (ex. Microsoft Word, Google Docs)
  • spreadsheets (ex. Excel, Google sheets)
  • .PDF files
  • Images (photos, illustrations, GIFs, photoshop files)
  • Presentations (ex. PowerPoint, Keynote)
..and so many others!

Attachments can be links or uploads!

When you start a padlet, the Modify menu will open immediately. From there you can:

  • Change the title and description
  • Change the layout (Grid = what you're looking at now, Stream = timeline-y, freeform = a collage)
  • Change the wallpaper (you can upload your own!)
  • Change the theme (premium users only!)
  • Add an icon (this is a way to show a little personality, whether it's a fun avatar, brand or school logo, or a profile image)
  • Turn Comments On/Off
  • Turn Author names for posts On/Off
  • Add Tags (easier to search for later)
  • Change the padlet's URL (easier for remembering & sharing)

If you wish give certain individuals greater privileges, you can go to the SHARE menu and add them manually by email or username.

You can give contributors read, write, or edit permissions.

Visit the SHARE menu and tap on the "Share/Export/Embed" tab. From there you can see all the possible ways to send a padlet, from a scannable QR code to an EXT or PDF file, to the link to the padlet.

The simplest way to share? To change this, go to the SHARE menu.

There, you can choose from four blanket permissions options.

Private - Only you and the people you add as contributors can access the padlet.
Password Protected - Visitors will need to enter a password (of your choosing) in order to access the padlet.
Secret *- Anyone who has the link or QR code can access the padlet. It will not be indexed by Google search or visible in public areas of Padlet.
Public - Anyone can access the padlet. It will appear in internal search as well as Google, and may be featured by Padlet on community pages.
