My Tie Date Party!

In my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega we had a date party that was themed My Tie so the girls would wear their dates tie and the men would not wear a tie. It was held at Velvet Ditch on the square and my friends and I all went together and had a lot of fun!

Being an out of state student here at Ole Miss I had no idea how much school spirit this place had! Waking up on the first Trash Can Friday and walking past the Grove to my music class and seeing all the trash cans in preparation for the first home game was truly a sight for sore eyes!

Volleyball game vs UK!

My friends and I went to a home volleyball game and had a blast! The energy that filled the arena was just breath taking! The girls on the court were lifting each other up after every point and after the other team had scored a point! The student section at the game all had pink pom poms for breast cancer awareness month and everyone was so hype to cheer on the Rebs!

Coming from out of state and not knowing anyone here can be really scary, and it was really scary. Thankfully I have found some really great friends in my hall in Brown and within my sorority! I know these friends are going to be there for me when times get hard and when there is something to celebrate. Thankfully everyone has been very nice and welcoming!

First Grove/Football Game!

No one prepares you for the first time going to the Grove for the first time. It was so fun and is so fun every weekend! Watching the players walk down the walk of champions is such a fun and exciting thing to do to get excited for the game. I have a few friends who are cheerleaders and a few on the dance team and my favorite thing to do on game day is to watch them on the Grove stage!

Pi Mu Gala!

One of my friends on my hall is a new member of the sorority Phi Mu and they hosted a event on Friday to raise money for their Phliatrophy the Childrens hospital! It was so much to meet a lot of her sorority sisters and to hang out with a few other of my friends who are also in Phi Mu! There was food and a live band and lots of people their to support Phi Mu! I was happy to be a attender of this event!

Big Little Reveal

In sorority's there is a tradition called bigs and littles, this is when a sohpmore gets paired up with a freshman kind of like a mother and child. The big in the relationship is their for the little freshman to help them navigate freshman year and help them within the sorority.For my big it ended up being someone I was already really great friends with and her name is Emma! I am so excited to become closer with Emma over the next four years in Alpha Chi!

Basketball game

On Monday, November 3rd I attended our school's men’s basketball game against the Southern Louisiana Lions. I had so much fun even though I didn’t get there in time to make it in the student section but I still got a free student seat up in the rafters with my friends.Not just the students were getting into the game but the adult fans around me were calling fouls, and cheering with their pom pom’s. It was nice to see that adults around Oxford also show support to basketball and not just football. It was so fun to attend my first Ole Miss basketball game with my sorority sisters and watch how great Ole Miss played against the Southern Louisiana Lions. Going to that smaller game made me excited to attend more basketball games here during my time at Ole Miss. I am actually planning to go the women's basketball game on November 12th and I could not be more excited!

My friends/ sorority sisters attended dinner every Sunday and we normally try a new place around Oxford. Even if we can not spend a lot of time together during the week we always make sure to attend a Sunday night dinner and talk and laugh about the last week and plan and get excited for the next week ahead.

Fries with Alpha Chi's!

Fries with Alpha Chi's is our fall phliatrophy event to raise money to help women abused of domestic violence. It was such a good time to meet new girls in my sorority and hang out with the friends I already had. It was also special over the weeks leading up to Fries with Alpha Chi's watching how much money we were raising to help these women in need! Alpha Chi Omega here at Ole Miss raised over 20,000 to help out women abused of domestic violence.

The Thursday before everyone left for Thanksgiving break my friends and I all got together and did a Friends giving at one of my sorority sisters house. It was really nice to get together with these girls who I call family and share a nice home cooked meal and be together right before we separated for break!

The Thursday before Thanksgiving break my sorority sisters and I got together to do a Friends giving before we separated for a week. It was really nice to share a home cooked traditional Thanksgiving meal with the girls I now call family.

Football season!

With being a freshman out of state student doing the Grove for the first time was so much fun. Everyone all season was so nice and welcoming. I truly looked forward to every football game because I was so excited to go meet new people in the Grove and hang out with friends. It was really nice when my sorority had a tent in the Grove and I could bring all my friends from my dorm and we could all hang out in the Grove together

At the end of every semester sororities typically do a end of year winter formal. Ours was held at the library to kick off the end of year before finals. So many of my friends and I got together before for dinner and to take pictures. It reminded me of prom in high school because everyone looked so beautiful and everyone was wearing really nice long dresses.
