We're campaigning for a new sport that will catch people's interest, get our children exercising and inspire the nation.

 

We'd like to invite you to come and present your ideas to us.

 
Step 1

 

In small groups of three to four people your team needs to invent a new sport. We want to know:

 

  

 

Once you have planned the answers on a new sport, your group will present them in a mini-presentation to other members in the class.

 

To start, today we will practice making and editing a short film.  Watch this video and write down the six points to making a successful pocket film.

 

Now go outside the classroom and film a scene - (anything!) for about one minute.

Suggested apps are Splice for iOS and Videoshow for Android, but you can use any app. 

Note: you don’t all need the app because you will work as a group on ONE movie.

 
Step 1 Open the app and create a new video with the file you recorded.

 

Step 2  If you recorded a few clips, you can add them together in your storyboard. We can do this as we collect photos and videos.

Step 3 Experiment and edit! You can trim, crop, rotate; add transitions, music, filters, stickers and text. Slide the timers for start and end times. 

Step 4 Add a title at the beginning and credits at the end.

Step 5 Play the whole film. Discuss any other changes you want to make, then go back and edit. 

Step 6 When you are satisfied, tap save or export.  

 

Step 7 Work with another group and share your short films. Ask questions AND explain your story and editing.

 

Step 1     Read: How to make a storyboard

 

Step 2     In your group, use Canva or Storyboard to plan to plan your film: the 10 days, people, locations, interviews, subtitles, and order of events.

 

Step 3     Save your plan so you can come back and edit. Your film will be much better if you have a complete plan! 

 

Step 4     When you finish planning from start to finish, you could print the storyboard. 

 

Step 5     Now you are ready to film the scenes for your short film. 

 

Step 5     Take the printed storyboard plan with you when you film your story on your mobile phone.

 

 

Finish the film by Wednesday in week 4.

 

This week we will enter places, descriptions of these places and photos or videos of the places in WA into Google Earth.

 

Once you have finished you will give a short presentation to another group.

Visit a Voyager Project to see what you can create 

 

Name your tour and add places, descriptions, photos or videos to build your tour of Western Australia. 

 

When you finish, work with a different group. Select 'Present' to show your tour. Ask and answer:

               

When did you visit there?

Who did you go with?

How did you go there?

Did you enjoy it? If so, why was it a good experience?

Would you recommend it?
