Tatsuno, Japan, is the city where my grandma is from. I visited there last spring. Tatsuno is VERY rural, in the deep south of Japan. In Tatsuno, most people are farmers, specifically rice farmers or fishers. Additionally, the town produces a significant amount of soy sauce and somen, with a massive soy sauce factory located right in front of my grandma's house. In the city, I saw no cars. Most people either walked or rode bikes. Tatsuno is an empty town...When I visited, I saw around 20 people at most. In Tatsuno, work is deeply rooted in the culture, and the elderly are also respected. Respecting your elders is something super important there. In conclusion, Tatsuno is more of a quiet "Traditional" Japanese town. They eat a lot of somen noodles, and there are MANY temples.
