         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Slater Mills were created in 1793 by Samuel Slater. Slater visited Moses Brown a Quaker capitalist who had his own mill in Pawtucket,Rhode Island. The mill was not doing well so Slater set off to improve the mill. By 1793 Slater built the first ever successful textile mill.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
