Lance - Long wooden pole with a metal tip and hand guards. Was commonly used on horseback.

Sword - The sword was a preferred weapon on foot, especially if the lance was broken during battle. Often used one-handed with a shield.

Mace - Rod with a big steel head. Used to crush enemy skulls.

Longbow - Many knights considered this to be cowardly, however it was necessary in most if not all battles. Could be used to attack from a distance.

Bow and Arrow - As they used bow and arrows for hundreds of years, they were master archers. This coupled with the quick reloading ability because of the small easy access quiver box on their belts.

Katana - A single blades weapon with a slim curve. Worn on the left hip, these expensive blades were used to cut their enemies to size.

Wakizashi - A shorter blade than its katana counterpart, it was paired with its slicing and dicing companion and became an iconic weapon.

Naginata - A long bladed polearm, it was common among samurai for medium range combat.

No-Dachi - Being the loveblade of a katana and a naginata has its advantages, such as the extraordinary length of the common man. It was wielded with 2 hands and carried in a long scabbard on the back.

Tanto - The complete opposite of the former, this short, one handed dagger was used as a backup. Some dedicated warriors used 2.

Both warriors on horseback approach each other, both honorable fighters, they will wait for signs of aggression. The samurai uses his bow to attack the Knights trusty steed and the ironclad warrior goes down hard as his horse falls. As a smash and bash type of warrior, he was opposed to using ranged weaponry. This is his downfall. As the nimble and accurate Samurai sends volleys of arrows down upon the defense oriented soldier from horseback, it begins to be too much, but just as the knight gains the motivation to fight for his life, a lucky arrow on the samurai's behalf pierces his chain-linked armor and punctures his neck. And just like that, the knight falls over into a heap of metal, blood and glory. The samurai rides off and without suffering a single wound, holsters his weapon and pats his horse on the head.
