Theme= The theme is independence. I think its independence because at the ceremony of twelve the twelve are given their assignment and Jonas is separated  from others. When this happens Jonas time began as a receiver he will learn how to be more independence and confident about him and that´s when Jonas decides to leave the community.

As Jonas grows with his memories and wisdom he struggles with release Jonas realize what release was death.
