They are similar because in the text of A Long Walk to Water it states " Bit by bit one step at a time." That is similar to Ally's struggles because she has to take it slow and one step at a time to get to her goal which is to be happy and smart and focus in school. I know they are similar because in the text of Fish in a Tree it states "I promise Ally if we keep going at this rate of how we are working you will be focused and happy! It may be a slow process but we will get there one step at a time!"
