The American Dream according to Steinbeck it is not possible because throughout the story every character had a dream and all their dreams were crushed. However, George and Lennie had a unique dream than all the rest which was the American Dream. Even with a unique dream their dreams were still crush and because it took during the Great Depression, the American Dream seem to be the only thing to give them hope/happiness in their life. Steinbeck comment is no matter what dream you have, don't let someone or something destroy it.

For example, George and Lennie escaped

thinking that they will be able to live their dream of having a

little house with farm animals, but in the end things got in

their way and they weren't able to fulfill it. Another example is

how Curley's dream of being a boxer didn't happened

because he got his hand crushed by Lennie.
