         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;There was a study done using a type of lipoic acid (ALA) daily to see if it could help treat the disease. There may be small side effects. It is important to evaluate the cognitive abilities, psychological health, and the quality of life early on within the disease. Nurses will be responsible for measuring blood levels, measuring blood pressures, performing common carotid ultrasounds, flow mediated dilation, and psychological and cognitive tests to make sure the entire study is going smoothly.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
