When I have the time to read, I read fiction, its the only type of books that appeal to me.

Personally, I am very picky about what books I read. I usually read horror or just recently drama-love story. I've been trying to choose books that I could learn from and have a deeper meaning like John Green books. After reading Fault in our Stars, I began trying to find books like it, so I read another one of his books. I would of chose another John Green novel, but I wanted to expand my knowledge on other great authors. The book I chose was "Ask the Passengers," which I thought would be intresting, but so far its not very appealing. I don't give up on books very easily I try to get into it until I know if I really like it, which is what I am doing with this novel.

Ask the Passengers takes place in Unity Valley in New Yorlk, fictional town.

I think this book takes place in the present time because Astrid has the same

problems that we face today. Astrid is explaining her family and what she does

in her free time. If this was a movie and I was a director, I would choose to film the

beginning of the movie in North Carolina because its known for having small towns

with good, sunny weather. The mood would be calm because it takes place in her

house and outsude in her backyard, not doing much.

Astrid Jones is my favorite character so far because

she is a truthful, and strong-willed. I am a truthful person you wouldn't find me lying very often and at times I am strong willed.Currently, I don't have any least favorite characters because

they have good characteristics. If I could go to dinner with any

of the characters, I would choose Astrid because she's the most

interesting character in the book and it would be great to know

actually know somebody like her. If I could ask her anything I would

ask, "Would you give advice to someone who was questioning there sexuality?

If you could would you change who you are? Whats the favorite thing about yourself?

If this book would be a movie, I would choose Emma Watson to be Astrid Jones

and Ellen Page as Dee to be the actresses because they would be talented enough to

play these roles.

When I choose the book i read i look for internal strugglles because its easier to relate to.

Astrid struggling to tell somebody who will listen to her true feelings. She is afraid that she won't be accepted for who she is; lesbian. I think that eventually Astrid will tell her loved ones and people will accept the true person she is.

I have not ever had a conflict like Astrid but I have been afraid of people judging me for the way I look or act.

I would rate this book a 6, it says a very good message but its hard to stay engaged. Its hard to tell the genre of the book, but i would say it is contemporary because the struggles the character faces, is something a lot of teens face today. I was a little disappointed in the ending because I was expecting something better, but overall it was an OK ending.The book met most of my criteria, it had a bigger meaning behind all of the words, but it was hard to stay intrested.
