They left their home to find a new place and practice religious freedom, they wanted to explore a new religion and not be forced to stay in one. They were called puritans because they were disrespectful toward other people's beliefs and purify other religions. The puritans arrived at America in the early 17th centuries, they angrily left because they refused to obey the King. They're new life seemed difficult at first, but they ended up creating new rules, and going to church was mandatory, they were all about they're religion. Their main purpose in the new world was to experience new religious freedom.

- "Art of Prophesying" by William Perkins (1558–1602): is a theoretic textbook for puritans that helps them identify their conscience voice i guess.

They began when some women were claiming to be possessed by an evil spirit (the devil) and accused other women of witchcraft. 
- More than 200 people were accused of witch craft, but 19 of them were found guilty. The purpose behind these trials was to execute anyone practicing witchcraft.
