Paragrahps:

Luckily, we can look to ancient disciplines for guidance. Loving kindness meditation (LKM) traces its roots to early Buddhism, a religion of eastern and central Asia that believes suffering is unavoidable. Buddhists believe a person can be freed from suffering by gaining wisdom, virtue and concentration. Meditation helps one finds these qualities. It helps us find compassion for one another even during trying times.

The meditation prompts us to send thoughts of loving kindness first to loved ones, then to neutral people and finally to challenging ones. Over time, our negative thoughts are replaced with more open, accepting ones. Our anger is eclipsed by love, or at least kindness.

Questions
1. What religion gave rise to the Loving Kindness Meditation?
2. Who believe a person can be free from suffering by gaining wisdom, virtue and concentration?
3. How do negative thoughts can change?
