         <description><![CDATA[<div>Violet finds letters from her sister, Chloe in her mother's desk drawer. Violet is angry at her mom and dad for hiding these letters for over 2 years, one was addressed in 1918. We find out that Chloe is her older sister was kicked out of the house. We learn she lives in New York and works as a nurse, which was a big deal because of the influenza pandemic. Flossie, Violet's best friend, had died 2 years ago, of influenza and Violet saw blood coming out of her nose and ears. We learn of Violet's older brother, Stephen, but we are curious to find out&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Violet is nervous to get onto a train, and she meets Mrs.Renwick Violet tries to be polite and Mrs. Renwick tells her that women should not be doctors or reporters but get married and have babies.</div>]]></description>

They rode on a train on a dirty platform and they had to sleep outside. In the end, they make it to Washington DC, and realize that Hobie is a great&nbsp;guy and not what it seemed. The theme is to not judge a book by its cover. At first, Violet and myrtle think Hobie is sketch, but in the end, he saved Myrtle and helped the girls get to Washington DC.</div>]]></description>
