  • What suppressed wants, needs, and even memories force their way through symbolically in hallucinations for Macbeth?  
    • His hallucinations portray a dark nature within Macbeth. The ambition once used for valiant deeds is now being used as power hungry motivation. These dark wishes brought to him in hallucinations stick with him the more he kills.
    1. What unconscious desires come through Lady Macbeth's behavior? 
    Lady Macbeth consciously hides her guilt and remorse very well. Her unconscious betrays her by putting stress on her fragile mind. The mask she puts on while conscious increases the remorse and guilt we see once unconscious.
