We made text-to-self connections and this connection came out as extremely powerful. Being able to connect the text to our own personal experiences made us engage more deeply and understand the text better. Making this connection also made the text memorable, and we ended up revisiting it multiple times. Our discussion reinforced the understanding that making connections is a significant and powerful tool that facilitates deeper, meaningful, and long term engagement with a text.
