The system cant admit that if it wasn't for the slaves America wouldn't be what it is today. Also, when they talk about the presidents or historic people they cut out how they were womanizers or racist/hateful towards black people.

Given this fact shows how the system cant take responsibility because things like this did happen and we learn nothing about it.

I use the word "value" very loosely because even slaves were not seen as humans. In Clint Smith's video, he mentions "the pages were ripped out of our textbooks" in a metaphorical sense meaning that the history that was being taught is "white-washed" and predominantly teaches the glorified history of the United States. The curriculum is constructed in a way that doesn't educate people on the full extent of the brutality of U.S. history. In relation to Black people, there is not a lot of education on how much they have contributed to this country even aside from slavery. This is a fundamental issue that reveals the obvious flaws within the education system because even the history students are taught holds bias and perpetuates racial prejudice. In the first video, Smith brings up that before we, "remember Jefferson's genius" we should acknowledge the enslaved people who built his library. The second video also mentions that Black and white people are not aware of what happened in the past, so much so that when they read the project, they were shocked by what they learned.
