A1.) The long-term value of a college degree is that the person that receives a college degree is most likely to be satisfied with their jobs, be able to have access to a healthier lifestyle, and also more likely to find and keep a job much more manageable than if they didn’t have a college degree.

A2.) The “hidden curriculum”, is an unspoken rule that a student can follow to be successful, and knowing about the “hidden curriculum” can help you succeed in college is learning how to conduct yourself before, during, and after class because the professors would assume that you already know what to do or because they feel you should figure it out on your own, but since most first-time college students don’t know this, they start to struggle in the beginning, but once they got the gist of how things are going on then things in college start to become much easier.

A3.) The learning strategies that are the most effective are the application question, activities, and career connections. Learning strategies are the most effective because, at any time you are asked to apply what you are learning in the chapters, you are improving your skills. Take time to stop, think, and use the skill. Also, as you read, you will have the opportunity to interact with content. This will give you the opportunity to refine the strategies that will help you succeed in college. Even with this feature, it allows you to consider how the skills you are developing for college connect to your future career. Making connections will help you appreciate the deeper importance of learning strategies.

A4.) The resources and services colleges are now offering to students’ personal development is the ability to distract the students from required completed work to do, and technology can help you accomplish your day-to-day tasks with relative ease. This feature offers suggestions for apps and websites that can help students build skills or just keep track of deadlines. The skills and habits students develop will serve students well in their future endeavors. This feature is designed to help students dig deeper into the chapter content and refine their research skills. In addition, students find ways to navigate learning options to enhance life and career.

A1.) The Grit score that I received is 4, which stands for mostly gritty. I believe Grit means when someone is responsible for their time and managing it, having discernment for their mental health, and having accountability for their actions and words. I feel that ways I can apply the theory of Grit to my choices in my education and learning are by being more open-minded in the whole situation that I’m in and managing my time and mental health.

A2.) Something that I understand about my own victim and creator language and locus of control is when you use victim language, you make yourself stuck mentally and feel like everything is against you, But having a creator language is when you tell yourself positive things so you can be able to have control over your situation and being able to succeed in anything that you put your mind towards. And regarding the locus of control, I understand that locus of control is when someone feels that they have control over the events of their life and certain situations that they put themselves in. The things I can identify in my own life that I have control over and that I could take more responsibility for to improve my success is when I eat certain foods to improve my health, the way I communicate with people in and outside of school, and the way I view people from different backgrounds.

A3.) I am making active choices in my life to become a successful student by being more productive with managing my time with work so I can enjoy life. Something I can do to make more choices that align with Skip Downing’s list of choices of a successful student is thinking more positively, having self-management to be more productive, having self-accountability for myself with certain situations, and thinking more of the now so I won’t overwhelm myself.

1.) My personality strength is being 57% Extroverted cause I like socializing with others and being surrounded by different energies, but I'm also introverted also well because when I'm done socializing with others I want to center myself and enjoy my own company.

2.) My personality strengths are being 83% Intuitive because I like thinking about different things all of the time that most of the time I don't personally agree with, but it never the less intrigues me that other people agree with different things and I like being in my head most of the time cause its like a whole other world up there. On the other hand, I'm also 17% observant because even though I like to analyze certain things at the same time I get rather impatient and get want to think about and look at other things as well.

3.) My personality strength is 57% Feeling because I feel that someone's emotions are very important cause your emotions are linked to your mental health and it is not healthy for yourself to not focus on yourself mentally cause it can lead to you bursting out emotionally in a workplace cause you're holding everything in and not paying attention to yourself and it would wind up you hurting others as an end result. On the other hand, I'm also 43% a Thinker because even though I feel for things a little bit more than think about certain things, I still like to think and evaluate certain situations because not everything has to have a response sometimes you have to think things through cause if you don't think about what you're going to say but instead response off of pure emotion than you are going to sound ignorant and very hot-headed.

4.) My personality strength is 64% Judging because I love when I am informed on what I need to do so I can prepare myself for what I have to do and organize my schedule and my resources to meet my set goal, I also like being organized in my life as well and do whatever I have to do what's an important thing one at a time first and then enjoying myself with whatever I please. On the other hand, I'm 36% Prospecting because sometimes I like just going with the flow with things because tend to overwhelm myself with important things as well and think too much about what I have to do so I just sometimes just do what I feel like doing at that moment, but most of the time I need to the important things one at a time first and have fun later.

1.) My 8 scores from The Multiple Intelligence Inventory Assessment is a 21 in Bodily-Kinesthetic, a 20 for both Interpersonal and Intrapersonal, 18 for Verbal Linguistic, 17 for both Logical-Mathematical and Naturalistic, and 14 for Musical.

2.) My top 3 strongest learning styles are Bodily-Kinesthetic, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal.

3.) My top 3 lowest learning styles are Musical, Logical-Mathematical, and Naturalistic.

4.) I can use this information to better understand the material in all of my classes so I will be able to easily complete my takes for my classes with ease so I won't get frustrated or stressed over it.

5.) Something that surprised me about my results is the numbering of the results because I thought I was more of an Interpersonal than a Bodily-Kinesthetic, but it's only off by one point so It also does make a lot of sense.

6.) My understanding of my learning style can influence my choice of major in school because then I would know which class I would want to pick according to my learning style so I can actually learn a lot from the class and when I become a physiologist I would interact with my clients in a way that is physically interactive and doing certain tasks for myself that is involving me writing little notes to myself about the person I was talking with to come to a general conclusion about what to do and then talk to them and get a verbal conclusion about what I can do to help them. This does coincide with my major choice because it works with my learning styles when it comes to wanting to interact with others and help them feel comfortable and safe, having time to myself to reflect about my whole day and think about what to do next and to also move around and pace myself whenever I'm doing something productive like reading, writing, or reciting something.

1.) It is important to have a correct educational plan each semester because if you have made an incorrect educational plan for each of the semesters then you would be in classes that are not within your career plan and would be taking classes that would be difficult for you to take.

2.) My plan for staying on top of updating my educational plan is to check in with my counselors with my educational plan and to join some programs to have an easier time in college with receiving financial aid and Honor benefits as well to have a better experience with my education so that I can put a lot more things down on my resume for my future career.

3.) I will go about selecting my schedule of classes based on the courses that I should be taking from my ed plan is selecting my time with each class to make sure to space out each class for me to be able to attend all of them on time, have some modality with each of the classes as well so I can be able to have my classes on campus, and to check to make sure if my classes require no textbooks and if they do if it is low cost or not.
