Through time they  try to control the environment too much and build shelters from the wind, this results in the forest becoming thinner and thinner, until there is only one tree remaining. Within the science curriculum it is hopeful that children can identify and naming a variety of common wild and garden plants. Therefore a task with relation to this book would be asking the children to name the trees and ask them what trees are in the book "The Last Tree". And with focus on the theme that is the Nature and linking with science ask the children what is needed for a tree to grow.
