She was always snooping around no matter where they went. House after house. She was always there. Michael was worried that eventually she was going to come back and take them away. Michael's mom checked into rehab and they were going to be evicted.

He knew he would never be adopted so he became a runner. Him and his brother started getting bounced around to different homes after Velma's. He hated it and almost always ran away trying to go 'home'. Velma, 'Twin',took care of Michael and his older brother Carlos. Michael liked her but eventually ran away from her as well. Michael was put into a orphanage called St. Joseph, he ran away from there as well. After he ran home that last time DCS just let him be until he aged out of the system.
