I would like to work in the Child Protection unit and riot sqaud early on in my career prior to having children (in order to take care of my own health). While this may be in some ways true, the Police are a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (366 during leap years), every year service that don't sleep, the police offer help that isn't always affiliated to crime, this includes (as per the video) assisting people who have had "too much" fun for one night to get home, being the bearer's of bad news to parents who have just lost their child to a car accident, being the first response team called out to any type of emergency, or even controlling crowds that have become a bit too rowdy. Hence, dog unit required professional trained dogs to help officers in catching the detect offenders. Also, detectives officers identifies clues and more. Thus, highway patrol work the on streets to capture; speeding, drinking drivers and more.
