I couldn’t not pick up this book with a title like that and periodic table sprayed edges!

A fascinating epistolary novel about a small island community that becomes subject to the whims of its draconian council who ban increasing numbers of alphabet letters from being used in verbal or written format.

Really enjoying and a quick read, I expect to finish it tonight!

I really enjoyed his trilogy of books ‘The Power of the Dog’ surrounding the Mexican Drug cartels and the power struggles within. They were based on fact and the Netflix series Narcos - Mexico loosely based on these novels. They are a good read and crime / police orientated which is the genre I tend to go back to time and time again - a good read and not without a little dark humour every now and again

Another in the excellent DCI Daley series - set on West Coast of Scotland with sub plots, intrigue and plenty to keep all interested. Would suggest starting at first of series as although can be read as stand alone there is solid depth to characters and plots.

Skyward - Brandon Sanderson (Mr Edmond)

Sanderson once again provides us with a perfectly paced fusion of the key components of sci-fi and fantasy, making us question and wonder what we think we know of these genres.

This is the second in the three body problem series. I read the first at the beginning of the year and really enjoyed it. Netflix have made series based on these books, so now I have a problem. I need to read the second and third books before the series is released in January!

Thursday Murder Club - Mr Beats

The first in a series of books of a group of OAPs in a retirement village who have a weekly murder club on a (I’m sure you can guess) Thursday where they solve crimes.

A great read with some good British humour! A great quote from the book is ‘’if you fail to prepare, then prepare to fail’’.

Looking forward to reading the next instalments and seeing the movie version when released. 😊
