The song "Valentine" by Laufey best relates to what Romeo says in this quote because they both talk about being instantly in love. Romeo claimed he has never seen true beauty until the night he saw Juliet, and that at that moment, his heart found love. In the "Valentine", Laufey sings, "I blinked and suddenly I had a valentine,", Both of these lines exhibits quickness by using the rhetorical device hyperbole. Romeo overexaggerates how he has never found true love until the night of the party when the reason he attended the party was to find Rosaline, not Juliet. He was in love before Juliet, and claimed that his love for Rosaline was true. Laufey uses hyperboles to exaggerate how quickly she fell in love. She used the word, "blinked" to demonstrate that her valentine 'appeared' right before her eyes. But love thee better than thou canst devise Til thou shalt know the reason of my love. And so, good Capulet—whose name I value As dearly as mine own—be satisfied" (Romeo, Act 3 Scene 1, Lines 57-67). Due to Romeo being married to Juliet, he believed that his quarrels with Tybalt should come to an end since they are now family, however, Tybalt doesn't know that. Shakespear uses dramatic irony to enhance the reader's view on the confusion Tybalt must have felt when Romeo was refusing to fight him since he did not know that Romeo and Juliet were now husband and wife. Yet again this is another example of how Romeo and Juliet's infatuation lead to tragedy which is the main theme and message of the story.

In the play Romeo and Juliet, there are alot of instances that depict Juliet's deep infatuation with Romeo that she confuses as love. For example “My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early, seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me, That I must love a loathed enemy,” (Jul.1.5.136-139). Here Juliet refers to Romeo as her love although she had only met him a few moments prior. And upon discovering that Romeo is actually a Montaough, she feels a sense of shock. But instead of denying her love and staying loyal to her family, instead she looks past the difficulty of being with Romeo and states that she ‘must love a loathed enemy’. This can be seen in the diary entry where Juliet explains her infatuation which she describes as love. In the same diary entry, she also addresses the forbidden love between her and Romeo, and explains that she looks past it because of how deeply infatuated she is. This is reflected in the theme “Dont confuse love with infatuation because it can lead to tragedy”, because Juliet does in fact confuse her infatuation for Romeo with love.

In these texts they’re so lost in a trance of infatuation that make the rash decision to get married, this is very similar to what happened in the play. Romeo and Juliet, upon discovering their love for each other, decide to get married, “Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed. If that thy bent of love be honorable, Thy propose marriage, send me word tomorrow,” (Jul. 2. 2. 142-144). In this quote, Juliet brings up the idea of marriage after conversing with Romeo for a second time. After talking about their attraction to each other, they think the best decision is automatically marriage. These texts also showcased their personality, as we see how willing Romeo is to listen to Juliet because of his desperation for love. It also shows a more childish side which represents how young they are and their immaturity. The theme, “Dont confuse love with infatuation because it can lead to tragedy” is overall represented because their infatuation leads to their rash decisions such as marriage.

In the play, Friar Laurence is the one who broke the news of banishment to Romeo, “A gentler judgment vanished from his lips: Not body’s death, but body’s banishment,” (Friar. 3.2. 11-12) and also, “Here from Verona art thou banished, be patient, for the world is broad and wide” (Friar.3 .2 .16-17). After Tybalt's death, the events that follow only get worse. The length of her skirt and the dagger attached to it illustrates the short life Juliet lived. Because she was so determined to be with Romeo, Juliet took a sleeping potion that made her appear dead so she would have time to run away with Romeo without her family suspecting anything. However, Romeo was not aware that she took a sleeping potion, so when he went to her 'grave', he was devastated to find that his one true love was dead. In return, Romeo drank poison that instantly killed him. Moments later after his death, Juliet awoke from her slumber. In seeing that her love has passed away, she took his dagger and stabbed herself. The tree roots as her shows represent her fears for being 'tied down' or married to Paris. Although they also represent her fears of the potion. Before drinking the potion, Juliet feared that she might never wake up from her sleep and would eventually die. She feared that her family would put her in her coffin and bury her before she could wake up, leaving her buried alive. The reason why roots were chosen instead of rope is to represent the Earth, the ground she would be buried in. Finally, the hat and the 'R' necklace are there to showcase her love for Romeo. The tower represents the moment they both confessed their love for each other, even if it wasn't direct. The necklace shows that Romeo, dead or alive, will always be close to her heart. The dress tells the tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet and how their confusion of infatuation for love led to their death.
