Honestly my placement only ever gives texas paragraphs or nothing. Sometimes I will try to give a weekly writing thing like this week I'm doing a "rewrite history" assignment and they are pretending they are textbook writers and writing what black power is to them (based on a bunch of sources and stuff),,,, but honestly overall it is LITTLE.

I want to do collaborative group writing, but when it's happened in my class before, either one student takes it entirely upon themselves, or they just have very little collaboration and hodge-podge their independent writing together.

it's not really being taught but it's being assigned? if that makes sense?

We use a google sheets outline that is required before turning in essays. The outline is standard 5 paragraph style. We assign 1 essay per unit usually.

It is being taught mostly through templated argumentative sentences and outlines that then build on those sentences to stretch them out into paragraphs. We have not gone further than paragraphs yet.

My fears are I feel dumb a lot of times when writing because it just was never my thing . I never felt confident AND I never received feedback in high school so I kind of went into college blind and it shows. So my fear is I am not fit to teach my kids a skill I also feel not confident in. But I do think it is really important! -maddie

My fears are that I will go into great detail trying to scaffold the assignment and make myself available for individual help but students will still refuse to give writing a try and will submit work with a one sentence answer like: I don't feel like doing this. This has happened far too often and I don't really know what to do at times.

There is some tension with the paragraph structure at my school. Everyone uses RACE, I'm a ride or die for MEAL, I think I might have to die though for the continuity and sanity of my kiddos
