This indicates that they will not take this loss lightly and intend to retaliate to claim their land back . This land loss also brought loss in coal production by 40%, and demilitarizing a certain zone near France to keep them from attacking France anymore.

Document D says, “Germany accepts the responsibility of... causing all the loss and damage...”. Which meant all the blame will be pointed at Germany for loosing the war. Doc. C states, “Germany undertakes, that she will make compensation for all damage done...”. Which means that Germans were required to pay for all the damage cause by the war. It shows that because Germany lost the war they had to take responsibility and pay for all the mess they made. Which made the Germans feel disgraced and humiliated. - Ivana J.

The army was devoted to the maintenance of order to the control of the frontiers within the territory. The treaty made the German military weaker which lead Germans to feel unsafe and afraid.

First of all is the German territorial losses. Germany would have still loss some territory, but it would be kept to a minimum. As for the reduction of troop levels, the demilitarized zone is great but Germany be left with at least enough troops as to not feel inferior to her surrounding countries. Next, regarding the harsh reparation

The treaty of Versailes could have been changed in many ways to avoid world war 2. First the territorial loss could be kept, but minimized to keep from taking away too much. Second, the troop reduction could not have happened at all because troops in every nation are needed, taking that away takes away some of the nations own pride in their power. Third, The was reparations could have been smaller although it is needed because of all the damage done to each nation. Finally, the war guilt clause is justifiable because they did start a war the would soon lead to the beginning of world war 1 by getting allies of the place they waged war on to turn on them until it continues.
