Devices are psychologically powerful that covers our real life . It swerves who we are as we humans are becoming advanced in terms of technology. Technology has become part of our everyday lives, technology has no exemptions , it has no age who to use and operate. Nowadays, everyone has their own business on their phone because of the advancements of technology, people can not already control their addiction . Is it really a problem or is it just became our normal routine?
“We expect more from technology and less from each other" the perception that we have now is that we can not rely on others but we can rely on social media because of the thought that it will give us comfort if we post what we feel on any social media platform, but the reality is, it will never surpass the comfort and sense of connection that your family and friends can offer you. Mobile phone has become a necessity for us and if we will be asked what is the most essential thing to bring, phone is surely the answer. During meetings, occasion, and other important events, we can see that everyone is busy on their devices. Technology has become a factor of some changes in our culture and tradition, for instance, family reunions became a show off and a boasting contest of new devices. Instead of an informative meeting in a discussion, it all ends with "the overall content will directly send to your electronic mails". In technology there is no age requirement, even a toddler already knows how to operate gadgets and most of the elderly have their own social media accounts. We can not deny the fact that it changes who we are, what we do, and even our perceptions in life.
Sometimes, we cannot blame people who uses technology more often because not everyone of us have the courage to listen and to have a personal deep conversation. I am fully agree with what Sherry Turkle stated about the impact and reality of technology. We can clearly visualize what is happening in a beautiful world full of intimacy, it turns out that everyone is connected but in an internet connection. I hope that people will open their eyes and hearts to accept the reality but at the same time make this opportunity to save our future generations to have a better life and a better connection not only in terms of technology but also in real life.
