Money Magazine evaluated more than 2,400 schools to compile its list of the 711 Best Colleges for Your Money. In assessing the schools, the magazine considered affordability, educational quality, and alumni success, and Michigan State ranked 30th, beating such schools as Duke, Dartmouth, Cornell, and the University of Chicago. Michigan State has been climbing consistently over the last few years, since ranking 122nd in 2014.
