Each of these kids come together and use the homework machine to help them , but then notice they are in trouble. They cant turn the homework machine off. This book would be great for any upper grade elementary classroom. In middle school I read her Ramona series and absolutely loved it! I enjoyed reading this book for a second time in my life, and will have the entire Ramona collection collection in my library. In this book, Beezus and Ramona, Beezus is struggling to like her sister Ramona. The main character Opel and her preacher father move to a new town where she knows no one. She misses her old friends and her mom who left when she was a little girl. But everything starts to pick up for Opel after she find a dog at the Win-Dixie grocery store. When rereading this book, it brought back a lot of memories from elementary school. Roz wakes up on this island to find herself alone, and doesn't know how she got there. Struggling to fit into her new home, Roz must must learn about the nature around her, and become friends with the animals on the island to stay alive. I am super glad to have this book in my library, because it would be a great book for the beginning of the year. Auggie is bullied for looking different by his classmates until they have a change of heart. While reading this book, I can see why it is so popular with upper elementary schoolers.
