The charioteer is the faculty of thought, reason , contemplation and ultimate choice. The Supreme (Self) is conciousness and the spark that awakens us. To define the mind we must understand the manifestation of thought and thus actions. To understand consciousness we must first find the Self behind the Chariot, horses and charioteer.

Once we know who we are, without everything we have, then only can we define the mind.

Scientifically undeniable but somehow magical.

It is housed beneath the surface of this mindscape. Its entrance is accessed right in the foreground of our image. As in mythology, it is underground.

There is much, much more ...
but this is just the view visible from my eye.

When I play music I form mental images according to what and how I feel at that point in time. The same piece/passage of music may conjure a different image each time. Breathing at the right moment is essential. It is like speaking, there are pauses and there are endings. The image formed is interpreted in the music I produced through my instrument.

I saw this sign in the subway of Rennes, where I went for three months on an Erasmus scholarship at the Art School, so I reproduced it as a little sculpture. The sign in the subway is to signal handicaped people, but aren't we, in some way, all handicaped then? ... because we all have our unconscious minds however coherent we would behave to one another.

While exploring the workings of light and visual perception, I once took a photo of a burning candle and its shadow. I was fascinated by the fact that the flame had no shadow to speak of, but you could 'tell' its presence by the delicate wavering 'heat shadow'. The mind could be seen as such - thoughts are bright like the flame and the mind is the invisible companion that is 'there' but elusive. I know it's not a perfect analogy, but perhaps captures something of the essence of the mind.

Deal with situations based on past experience. But also find unknown possiblities and solutions. I think the mind is the driving point of our existence or our distinct difference to other creation. Your state of mind is dependent on your perception of reality. Its an internal world of ones self. The mind is comparable to the universe. As it's apparent it exists but its to greater too comprehend. It carries unknown knowledge that is yet to be revealed to us.

As I sit here pondering what to draw, what is it that is doing the pondering? Where do the thoughts come from? How does the three-pound mass of grey matter that is my brain give rise to the felt experience of sensations, feelings, and thoughts? I continue on this quest to understand it. I walked into the room and browsed in a bin to locate my mother's art supplies. I began to imagine the anatomy of the brain and how I have gained wisdom and understanding throughout my educational journey in several interdisciplinary fields. This drawing depicts my own work of artistic interpretation of how I visualize the mind. I will demonstrate that the mind captures how we view the world in material reality through the senses. Then there is the conscious self.

In the neural structure, the brain is an organic electrochemical system. The branching structure is one of the fundamental structural forms in nature, common to trees, neurons, and lightning.

The drawing refers to the division of functions between the left brain (language, logic) and the right brain (emotion, space perception)

We are bombarded by social media news about the Ukraine war, military tanks appeared in my mind and nestled beside raindrops, trees, dollar bills, continents, and galaxies. It shows us how experience is translated into thought and how memories are layered.

The brain and body are connected through neural pathways made up of neurotransmitters, hormones, and chemicals. These pathways transmit signals between the body and the brain to control our everyday functions, from breathing, digestion, and pain sensations to movement, thinking, and feeling. These nine major organ systems in the human body are the integumentary system, the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory system, the circulatory system, the digestive system, the excretory system, the nervous system, the endocrine system, and the reproductive system. The brain sends and receives chemical and electrical signals throughout the body. Different signals control different processes, and your brain interprets each.

All of the knowledge and wisdom that we have concerning our external world is conveyed through our five senses. It is generating a conscious experience. (sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste)
