What:  A colonist approached a redcoat and was very angry at him for no apparent reason. The redcoat struck him with the end of his musket which resulted in a angry mob. More red coats lead by Captain Preston escorted the officer away from the situation. The mob threw rocks and snowballs at the redcoats. One redcoat was hit in the face and turned and fired at the mob. More redcoats also fired at the mob. When the smoke cleared, 5 men that were in the mob lay dead.

When: March 5, 1770

Where: Boston, Massachusetts
