We flew to the Czech Republic, I was very excited and wanted to meet my host family. Since I lived outside the city, it took us about an hour to get home. Upon arrival, I laid out my things, rested a bit, and we went to a shopping center located close to the house. There was a small bakery right next to the stop where they treated us to terdelnik. After the walk, we went home and I met the whole host family, we had a nice meal and talked, and then we started watching the first part of Twilight. On the first day, I learned that there are a lot of types of public transport in the Czech Republic and I realized how convenient it is when the bus runs every 7 minutes, even outside the city. I also saw how clean this country is, literally everywhere there are rubbish bins of several types and it is very important for everyone to sort it. At home in the evening they told me about their national dishes and promised that in a week I would try them all)

In the morning we went to school where we talked about Latvia and also about our school, after we listened to a presentation about (Ğimnāzija Ceskolipska) our exchange partners gave us a short tour of their gymnasium from the notes that I noticed that cleanliness is very important for students and they walk around the school in slippers; also, three students are allocated one locker where they store things. On each floor there are rubbish bins of three types, and from an early age everyone is taught to sort. At school they fed us, they have three dishes to choose from, one of them is vegan. As someone who doesn’t like meat, I can say that the food was very tasty. Immediately after we went to the museum of water works where they told us the principle of operation, which was interesting to learn since in the Czech Republic everyone drinks tap water. After the museum, we walked around the park with wonderful views of the city and its architecture. The excursions ended at about 5 pm, and we drove to the same shopping center to eat and walk a little. By 7 p.m we had to go home where food was waiting for us, we talked a little at the table and began to watch the second part of Twilight. And so Tuesday passed)

On this day we visited the zoo where we were divided into teams and we performed many tasks. The Czech Republic has a huge zoo and a lot of beautiful views of the city in the morning. After the tour we ate. And we went to the city center where we were told interesting facts and just the history of the construction of some buildings (I was very impressed by the post office building, which was painted from the inside by an Italian artist), after which we took photographs and walked around the center by 7 p.m. we went home and began to eat the first was pumpkin soup and two hours later, melted cheese with potatoes (this was incredibly tasty and became my favorite), after eating we played board games all together)

We went to the Agricultural Museum where there were many interactive exhibitions and a beautiful view on the fourth floor. After all the walking around the museum, we had an interactive workshop on sorting waste. The excursion along with the master class was about three hours and we were able to walk around the park before going to eat at the restaurant. After lunch, we all went to the shopping center together, where for the first hour they told us and showed us how the store saves the environment, and then we had two hours of free time. By 7 p.m. we went home where I ate pumpkin soup and an hour later I was fed a signature Czech dish (this is boiled dough with berries inside and sour cream with sugar) it was incredibly tasty. We spent an hour together talking about life and everyone went to bed as each of us was very tired.

Friday I don’t even know why, but it was my favorite day of this week. In the morning we walked, visited a museum with distorting mirrors, and also told us its history. Afterwards we all completed interactive tasks visiting the most important attractions. We ate at the University of Law, a very beautiful building located near one of the most expensive streets on which there are a huge number of boutiques. After we visited a few more places and the excursions ended. We decided to stay and walk around the city center, visiting shops and enjoying the beautiful architecture of the streets. We ate in a cafe and went home as usual at 7 p.m. The journey took an hour, but it flew by very quickly. At home I ate potato pancakes. As per tradition, during the evening meal we all discussed together what we had done that day and just had a nice conversation, discussing everything that was bothering us. I am very grateful that I felt very comfortable in the host family))

Saturday can be called the last full day in the Czech Republic. Our exchange partners suggested that we go to laser tag where we had a very cool and sporty time. Then, before the official part (bowling), we went to a shopping center where we rested, buying souvenirs and eating. And than we went to the bowling, where we summed up the results of the project. After all, Martina and I walked a little and, as usual, by 7 p.m. we were home. On the last day I was fed a national dish and a delicious dessert. Honestly, at that moment it was very sad to realize that the week flew so quickly and you were already too accustomed to this rhythm of life. But it was already late and I packed all my things, talked a little with my family and we went to bed, since we had to leave for the airport early)
