    The stem of the plot moves down according to the first digit or digits, and the leaf moves to the right depending on the following numbers. 
    1. What are the advantages to using this type of graph?
    Advantages: Using a stem and leaf plot allows you to see all of the individual data values and is great for small data sets because it presents the data in a compact way.
    1. What are the disadvantages to using this type of graph?
    Some disadvantages of using this type of graph is that they aren't useful for large sets of data and cause some confusion.
    1. Provide 1 example of your type of graph, and provide a brief explanation of what the graph is telling you. 
    If we are given the number 36, the stem would be 3 and the leaf would be 6. If there is another number that is 38, the 3 would be the same 3 we used for the 36, but the 8 would be placed to the right of the 6 to represent the value 38. This plot is giving us the values that we have in a different format.

    Dotplots show how frequent a phenomenon is with numerical data.

    Dot plots use dots. Data does not depend on a second axis. Dot plots can only be used to represent sample studies. Dot plots are basically bar graphs that use dots.
    1. What are the advantages to using this type of graph?
    You can easily see if the data is skewed. When there is a small sample size, the data is easy to read. Dot plots are easy to update because they can be added to progressively like tally marks.
    1. What are the disadvantages to using this type of graph?
    Dot plots can only be used to represent sample studies. They are harder to read when you have a bigger sample size.

    This dot plot tells us that most people in this sample ordered one or two gallons of paint.
