         <description><![CDATA[<div>To solve this problem, I used a practice that students commonly use while doing math which is repeatedly adding groups of a quantity, in this case bead pods. After getting the total of seeds in the pods, I remembered that there are two extra seeds. The extra seeds were added at the end which ended up giving me a total. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To solve this problem, I used was something that students use most commonly. I did repeatedly adding groups of a quantity. I had 6 different groups to represent the 6 bean pods and I know that each pod had 10 seeds so I wrote down 10 under each group. Then I added all 6 groups which gave me 60 seeds in total. But I know she had 2 extra seeds so then I added 60+2 to give me the total of 62. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I followed three steps to solve this problem. My first step was to write the numbers one through six in a consecutive format. Each of these numbers represented one bean pod, making a total of six bean pods. My second step was giving each bean pod (number) ten beans. I placed the two extra beans next to the six groups of beans. My third step was adding the number of groups that I had formed. Then, I added the two extra beans that were left out. The total came out to be 62 beans.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To solve the following problem I used what elementary students typically use to interpret math problems. A visual, a picture. Picture helps a lot work especially, big word problems. Next, I drew out 6 boxes to represent the bean pods. In each I drew 10 beans inside. So, that gives me a total of 60 seeds cause I counted by tens. Lastly drew out the extra seeds and counted to a solution of 62 seeds in total.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I took out the important information (being the numbers and what they represented). Then I used multiplication and addition to solve the problem. Since there are 10 seeds in each pod, you can multiply 10 by the amount of pods that there are. There are 6 pods, so 10 x 6. This equals 60. Then there are two extra seeds. So 60 + 2. So, we have 6 bean pods and each pod has 10 seeds, and Julia has 2 extra seeds. Because each bean pod has 10 seeds in them i multiplied 6 by 10 and got 60 seeds. I can't forget about the 2 extra seeds Julia has, so I added 2 to 60 and got 62. The total number of seeds is 62. </div>]]></description>

What I did to solve this problem was multiply 6 x 10 since we know that there is 6 pods  and inside each pod there are 10 seeds. Once I did that I got 60 and I added the two extra seeds which equal to 62. I also used the adding by tenths or ones to solve for this problem. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>What I did to solve this problem is, think and understand what the question was asking. Since I am a visual learner, I rewrote the question, and crossed out the information that was not necessary. After crossing out the unnecessary information,&nbsp; I was left with <em>“6 bean pods”</em>&nbsp; (I started drawing six bean pods) , then “<em>each pod has 10 beans inside</em>” (then I drew 10 beans seeds inside each of the six pods) after, “<em>2 extra seeds”</em> ( I drew two seeds on the side) and finally&nbsp; I was left with “<em>how many seeds does she have</em>” ( this tells me I had to find the total number of seeds). After making my drawing, I added the total number of seeds, and came up with the total number of 62.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

Then I found what the question was asking me to find. In this case, it is asking how many seeds Juliet has in total. After this I drew an image to make it easier for me to put all the information together. I first drew 6 pods and inside each pod I drew 10 seeds. There was a total of 6 groups and they each had 10 seeds inside. I drew each pod with 10 seeds and included the two extra seeds on the side. After counting each seed, I added the total amount together. Altogether, I got 62 seeds.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I solved this problem by creating a drawing that shows 6 groups of 10 seeds plus 2 more seeds. Once you add up all the seeds I got 62 as my answer. However, I believe that elementary school children could get confused as to what numbers to add and they might add 6 groups + 10 seeds+ 2 seeds and get an answer like 18. I don’t know this is just a way a child my interpreter the problem.</div>]]></description>

I new that there were 6 groups of 10 so I first drew the six groups of pods, next I added the ten seed into each one without forgetting to add the two extra.  Once done with the picture I wrote my drawing as an expression of repeated addition.  Lastly, I showed how it could also be solved with a multiplication and addition equation.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After reading the problem, I made sure to write down what the problem was asking me to look for (solve for). Then I went ahead and wrote the quantities and what they represented. I identified that Juliet had 6 pods and each of those pods had 10 seeds inside, which I drew in and represented each pod and seed. Then below each pod, I wrote the amount of seed it had. Then I added the amounts of the seeds on the pods. Looking back at my quantities, I noticed that she had 2 extra seeds, so I also drew them individually. Afterwards I added both quantities to get a total of 62 seeds.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I solved this problem by using visual representations of bean pods and bean seeds. There are 6 bean pods therefore I drew 6 bean pods. Each bean pod has 10 seeds so I drew 10 in each bead pod. The question asks how many bean seeds are there in total? So I knew I had to count every bean seed and add the two extra seeds Juliet had. Being that there is 10 bean seeds I was able to add by 10's six times getting a total of 60 seeds. I added the remaining 2 and got a total of 62. Lastly, I checked my work by using multiplication. I know 10 times 6 is 60 and I remembered to add the 2 getting the same answer of 62. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To solve this problem I decided to first write the question, and then underlined key words or key information.  Once I figured out what the question was asking, I decided to start solving the problem with a drawing.  I drew 6 pods, and 10 seeds in each pod.  Then, on the side I drew the 2 extra seeds.  After that I decided to add (10+10+10+10+10+10+2) my answer was =62.  I also checked that my answer was correct by multiplying it, and of course I got the same answer (10x6+2=62).  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In order to solve this problem I decided to represent each Bean Pod through a big circle, since there were 6 pean pods I drew 6 big circles. The problem stated that each bean pod had a total of 10 bean seeds. Therefore, in order to represent that, I drew 10 small circles inside each big circle. It also said that there were two extra beans and I drew two small circles outside of the big pods. To keep it organized, I made sure to label each bean pod as well as each seed inside, to make sure there were a total of 10 in each.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In Juliet's bean pod harvest she collected 6 pods in total. Each pod had 10 bean seeds inside. Juliet had 2 extra seeds left over. I drew bean pods adjacent to one another. Each bean pod is a grouping of 10 seeds. Therefore, by adding 10 seeds six times we derive at the grand total of 60 seeds. Now, I separated the two extra seeds Juliet had on the right side. I added 60 seeds with the 2 extra ones and concluded that Juliet has 62 seeds in total. Another way that this could work is by multiplying. The six groups of pods contain ten seeds inside. Therefore, 6x10 give us a result of 60. 60+2 equals 62 seeds. In my drawing I used real beans to physically demonstrate the grouping of 10 seeds in each pod. </div>]]></description>

Next, I determine what information they are seeking to satisfy the question. They want to know the total number of seeds Gardener Juliet has once you count all the seeds. So, we would write the number ten six times in a column to represent six pods with ten seeds each plus the number two for the two extra seeds, then add up all the numbers, which equals sixty-two seeds.
