I didn't want to be the "baby" of the group and not go on any rides. So to save myself the embarrassment I decided to suck it up and go on one. I was shaking the whole way throughout the line and nervously sweating. When we got to the front I took a final look back and went ahead. After buckling the belt I knew it was actually happening. The ride had begun shortly after and halfway through I had my hands up and was screaming for joy. The thrill was just excruciating and something that I knew I wanted to experience again. When we all got off I said "Let's go again!" 



How it relates to my theme:
After being afraid of heights for so long and I completed the roller coaster I never felt so accomplished. I never knew how fun it was until I actually had done it for myself. He let out a derogatory comment on the color of our skins. Neither of us didn't know what to do, we remained quiet for a while, until I let her know we have to speak to someone about it. I went up to a trusted adult and told them what happened in class. They were astonished from the boy's act. Our parents later let us know that this wasn't okay, and from that point on I learned the value of my voice.
How it relates to the theme: This story of mine relates to the theme because it took a lot of courage to be able to speak up about the situation. I was scared to tell someone because I thought I would get in trouble.
