I have really enjoyed reading our textbook, Making Content Comprehensible for English Learners: The SIOP® Model by Echevarria, Vogt, and Short. Using this book in class this semester has really helped me analyze how to effectively support English learners by implementing strategies that enhance comprehension. The book has guided me to apply techniques like scaffolding, using visual aids, and incorporating more interactive, student-centered activities. By following its frameworks, I've been able to evaluate my lessons to ensure they're accessible to all learners, regardless of language proficiency, while still maintaining rigorous content standards. Even though we've only been reading from it for about 3 weeks, I have already found it to be very useful for curriculum design techniques.
