Doing Development Research Differently - OX4RD by Willemijn de Bruin

Welcome to the OX4RD online 'doing development research differently' debate. This platform has been created by the Oxford Forum on Research for Development (OX4RD) to share some information and stimulate debate about how development research and knowledge exchange can build capacity and contribute to positive change in the global South. During May 2020, this is the place to find out what organisations in and around Oxford are doing, discuss key issues and identify challenges to be explored in subsequent meetings - the first of which will be a webinar in June. We encourage you to browse, like or dislike or comment on existing posts and topics, or start a new topic. You can post videos, voice notes, links to websites or publications. It is pretty easy, but if you would like help, click the three dots in the top right of your window– and don’t forget to post your comments by the end of May to join the debate! Happy posting!

In 2019, the University of Oxford established a public policy engagement support function, to provide guidance and resources for university researchers to engage effectively with policy actors. The ultimate goal is to foster and support evidence-informed policymaking.

Given the breadth of international research at the university, the Policy Engagement team is keen to better understand how evidence uptake works in a number of different country contexts. This informs how researchers can engage with public policy internationally in an effective and responsible way.
