Due to the complications of being a slave, richard allen was sold by Benjamin Chew to Stokley Sturgis in the Kent county.where things didn't seem as tough. Where this slave owner would allow them to worship God at "methodist service held in slave
owners own home". Having not said that he was sold with his whole family being known that it wasn't strange that a slave would be seperated from his family.

Having an unimaginable sense of difference between other slave owner Stokley allowed his slaves to work for their freedom . Giving them this chance this must've brought hope of humanity goodness in Richard Allen heart. This was due to the fact not many slaves got to do this causing them most likely to hate the white men at the time. For all they knew was pain an suffering was brought by these white men at the time.

Taking a break from being a nomadic preacher he stayed for a while at St. George. Though of course racial controversies made him leave and to the creation Philadelphia's Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Due to many pastors at St.George wanting control due to the indepence of bethel caused Allen to gained "judicial recognition". Causing his followers to be included in the creation of the AME church. Being well known he was elected as Bishop and did well causing an enlargement of the church spreading to NY and to North Carolina. Leaving behind a great legacy as a man of God and an abolitionist.
