The Supreme Ordeal

Harry enters the trap door and some plants grab them. Hermione tells them to stay calm and they will live. After making it past the plants, they have to play a game of giant magic chess. They have to beat the magic opponent to go on, and Ron and Hermione tell Harry that he has to go on without them. Harry enters the final room and faces Professor Quirrel, who asks him where the Sorcerer's Stone is. Then, he unwraps this head-cloth to reveal that Voldemort is on the back of his head. They try to kill Harry, but when Harry touches them, they turn into stone and break apart into little pieces.

Hero

Harry Potter is the main character and hero of the story. He helps prevent many disastrous events from happening, such as the troll who got loose and stopping Professor Quirrell. He shows bravery and strength when facing shadows.

Allies

Hermione and Ron are the Hero's allies. They befriend Harry on his first day at Hogwarts and help him in times of trouble. Hermione is very smart and keeps her friend on track. Ron has unique skills that help during disastrous times.

Shadow

Professor Quirrell and Voldemort are the Shadows. There are two shadows because they are pretty much the same person. Voldemort is on the back of Professor Quirrell's head and tells him what to do. They try to get Harry to tell them where the Sorcerer's Stone is and also try to kill him. These actions make them the shadow.

Mentors

Hagrid is one of the mentors in this movie. He is the one who told Harry that he was a wizard and also supplied him with his school supplies. Hagrid helps and teaches Harry throughout the movie and also gives him information that helps him succeed.

Crossing Threshold

After Hagrid leaves, Harry enters platform 9 3/4 to get on the train to Hogwarts. When he gets there, Harry and fellow students have to boat over a lake to get to their final destination.

Threshold Guardians

Ever since Harry's parents died, he lived with his aunt and uncle. Their names are Vernon and Petunia Dursley. When Harry gets a letter from Hogwarts, they prevent him from reading it. They move away just to get away from the letters, but Harry still finds out that he is a wizard. His whole life, they never told him that his parents were wizards, which makes them the threshold guardians.

Reward

At the end of the year, all the students gather in the Great Hall to find out who won the House Cup. At first, the order is Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and last, Gryffindor. But, because of Harry, Ron, and Hermione's bravery and strength, they win the house cup and celebrate.

Call to Adventure

Harry goes out to get the mail for his family and sees that there is a letter for him. He is about to open it when his cousin tells on him and Uncle Vernon takes it away.

The Road Back

After winning the house cup, Harry has to pack up his stuff and leave Hogwarts. He is not excited to go back to his rude aunt and uncle, but he knows he'll be able to come back next year.

Meeting the Mentor

After moving to a house in the middle of the ocean, Hagrid comes to give Harry the letter himself. Harry meets Hagrid, and they leave together to go to Diagon Alley, which is a street where wizards can go shopping.

Ordinary World

Harry lives with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Cousin Dudley. They treat him poorly and he sleeps under the stairs. They make him cook breakfast, get the mail, and many other terrible things.

Refusal of the Call

After receiving letters from Hogwarts, Uncle Vernon refuses to let Harry read the letters. Harry wants to read them since they are for him, but Uncle Vernon knows they are from Hogwarts and doesn't allow Harry to see what they say.

Harry meets Ron while trying to find platform 9 3/4. Once they get on the train, they meet Hermione. When they get to Hogwarts, they get sorted into houses. All three get into Gryffindor. The next day, a troll gets loose and they work together to defeat it.
