I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 10 years old. While I don't think ADHD defines me, I do think that it impacts my personal identity. It has impacted me in many ways. From focusing in school, attention to detail in work, maintaining friendships, and sticking with hobbies. I have been playing from a young age and it has not only kept me in shape but helped me build meaningful friendships. I play indoor soccer now and is where I keep in contact with many high school friends and is a way I can get out of the house and socialize with new people. Soccer has also socially impacted me because of my English team I support, Arsenal. I have a large family and we are very close-knit. I have a blended family with American and Hispanic cultures and backgrounds. It has made it easy to grow up in a loving, helpful culture because of my family. Whenever anyone needs help, we all band together and make it happen. Socially, my two older sisters are my best friends and they have helped shape me into who I am. They have guided me through life, and the way I interact with different cultures around me. Football has been something I have grown up watching with friends and family. There is a strong sense of community within the Michigan football family, it's a way to stay connected with people you care about. With football dinners, tailgating and simply watching the game in a bar with friends.
