I am unmotivated to attend online things, although often felt better when I did. However, I put most of my effort into outdoor connections or phone calls with SC friends. I kept up on Facebook and loved the photos of the events Jen DelDeo coordinated. I couldn't get myself to go necessarily, but loved knowing others are out there connecting. Working on PGT has been the best. Zoom removed the travel time so I could fi it in again.  Love the intimacy and depth of these meetings.

I also attended nearly every church service. I'll no match for the real thing, the staff did an amazing job of creating inspiring worship experiences. I loved the April "Becoming Challenges", even tho' sometimes I was playing catch up. Being kept abreast of the Annual Budget Campaign progress, our "Save a Slate Project,  the updates from the Ministerial Search Committee (thank you, thank you,) Pocket Garden Tour  activities and our Caring Corner kept me feeling that my church community was still there. Gratitude to each of you who made it possible.

Meeting in person would have been better, but I was surprised at how satisfying the online gatherings could be. And more convenient! No drive time, no getting dressed in presentable clothing.  I love saying hello via the chat in Sunday services.  Sitting with Susan. Zoom meetings. I even went to a board meeting  which I would never do in person.  In person events like the Christmas packets, buy a slate. So exciting to see people, in a safe way. South Church Folk! We turned it into fun and an amazing learning opportunity.

Singing.]]> 2021-05-18 15:14:57 UTC https://padlet.com/CommunityQuestions/Checking_in/wish/1536057265 Kim Rivest https://padlet.com/CommunityQuestions/Checking_in/wish/1547451010 I really enjoyed being with the children via Zoom on Tuesday afternoons.  It was so much fun to have free dancing at the end.  It really helped me get through the winter and like everyone else needing that human touch.  I dropped in one Wednesday morning and listened and interpreted poems.  Sitting with Susan was a great idea from Rev. Susan.  Please send out the notices ahead of time so I don't miss it.  The staff and volunteers that produce the Sunday worship service deserve a thank you luncheon or some gift of gratitude.

I am so impressed and in awe because I am not a computer tech person.

I found ways to meaningfully connect over the past year. Engagement in ABC and FA on Zoom. Occasionally dropping into Social Hour after Service. The chat feature during Services. Jen DD's outings provided much needed safe, in-person contact in the outdoors and the online "challenges" like "Will it waffle?" and "Chopped!" were really fun. 

I feel more deeply connected to the Church as it provided a consistent grounding space during a challenging year. I am also so pleased that my mother has started to engage with South Church due to our virtual services. 

I have been missing seeing our friends who may not be totally comfortable with technology. I've been missing connecting with people in that random ad hoc way before or after services.
