I wanted to show two different variations of the Cathedral drawing at the end of the story. This drawing brings the narrator and Robert closer together, developing a bond that allows the narrator to see the errors in his ways. Although one version of the drawing is clearly better and more detailed than the other, both portray a very specific experience. The end product of these pieces is not important. This is shown clearly in the story when the narrator continues to close his eyes along with the blind character, Robert. He knows that whatever they created is beautiful because it gave him perspective.

The concepts of happiness and knowledge can seem complex and far away, but much of life, as humans, is filled with searching for and fulfilling these broad concepts. In the modern world, with unlimited tools and capabilities, any knowledge is constantly at our fingertips, but this pilling of information can often feel daunting and overbearing. Now, the search for knowledge can literally be endless, unlike at other times in history. The human experience is also directly connected to this search for knowledge. Human beings spend a majority of their early lives learning or preparing for learning. Education starts from a young age to attempt to challenge us to grow, but knowledge does not only exist as math and sciences. Other forms of knowledge comes from personal experience, including specific life events that change our inherent being and perspective. These life lessons go beyond the knowledge taught in school, because they alter how we exist and the role that we play in the word. However strong it might be, the connection between knowledge and happiness exists, but I believe that knowledge of the greater world usually decreases the happiness of a person.
