The system of check and balances. Works by all three branches legislative, judicial, executive keeping eachother in Check. In other words one branch can not rise up and be more powerful then the other two branches. For example the legislative branch cannot make laws without the other two branches to approving, enforcing, and passing the law. For instance they're basically playing a never ending rock, paper, scissors game.

The words, "We the people of the United States...establish this Constitution for the United States of America," has clearly set out the guidelines of the government having power. Popular sovereignty had also involved where many Americans had took pride in ruling themselves. Popular sovereignty was first used by Lewis Cass, a Michigan senator and presidential candidate, in a 1847 Nicholson letter. Popular sovereignty had mostly been brought up in the 1850s from the most roaring enthusiast, Stephen Douglas. If we didn't have popular sovereignty then our liberty wouldn't have been fully protected nationally or internationally.

Abuse of power is prevented by the constitution stating which powers are denied to congress. In addition the constitution also states which actions states are forbidden to take. Also limited government means everybody needs to follow the same laws no matter which social class you are in. For example, no one state has more power than the others. Also for instance, if you are driving while talking on the phone you will still get a ticket even if you have a lot of money.

For example, if they are able to choose their own representatives, they will most likely choose the person who probably thinks the same way as them. Their views will be able to be seen by other people because of their representatives. Citizens being able to vote for their own representatives is called 'popular sovereignty'.

The power is divided by the division of basic government roles into branches. Like for an example the Legislative Branch is the congress, and they are in charge of making laws for our land. An other example would be the Executive Branch which is the president, and they are in charge of enforcing laws that the congress ratify. The last branch is the Judical Branch which is the Supreme Court, they explain the laws under the constitution while also deciding if the laws are constitutional or not. With the separation of powers it stops anyone or group from becoming more powerful than another.

For example people can vote for president and be able to run for president. It also gives the rights for people to be able to run for anything that you want to run for. But, you have to meet the expectations that you have to have to run. So this principle gives the right so that people can vote.

Separation of powers is power divided into three. The three people that share the power is Legislative Branch, Executive Branch, and Judical Branch. So the way this works is when Donald trump wants to make a law, he wouldn't be able to do it without the branches. The Legislative Branch (congress) makes the law. The Executive branch (president) enfources the law. Judicial Branch (supreme court) interprets the law.

Checks and balances were created by the U.S Federal government. the Constitution divided the Government into three branches legislative, executive, and judicial. This was important because it gave specific powers to each branch without the trouble of one branch feeling that they have more power than others. For example, the Executive Branch can veto bills from the Legislative Branch, but the Legislative Branch can override the veto. Finally, checks and balances was a way to create peace with the government and people by keeping it fair.

Also the powers are divided into 3 separate branches which are legislative, executive, judicial branch. The separation of powers provides a system of shared power known as checks and balances. It is important to have separation of powers because it refers to the division of government responsibilities into distinct branches to limit any one branch fro mm exercising the core functions of one another.
