The main intention of the DVD cover is to attract the audience of age 30-49, the front of the DVD cover, should include the little boy in an isolated dimmed place, with the title 'MISSING' In large font (capitalised) 'LOST IN THE CITY' in a quite smaller font. The purpose of the fonts being capitalised is to add to the urgency of the little boy needing to be found, the writing will be in white in order to contrast with the dark background. Enigma codes like 'disappeared within seconds' the use of enigma codes creates tension and mystery; the audience may be influenced to know what the story line is. it is an emotional topic that parents will find devastating, this is the reason why this story line will suit the target audience's interests. 
The suitable codes and conventions that will suit the story line is the plot being based in the city, and also in an isolated place. London is a very large city, sometimes full of crime and the target audience are able to relate to this, in addition the isolated place creates suspense which suits the mystery genre. Steve Neale's theory supports this point by saying '' that genres all contain instances of repetition and difference, difference is essential to the to the economy of the genre'
There will be  thumbnails, to represent the story line (at the back of the DVD cover)The  thumbnails will contains shots of : the brother and sister watching tv where everything is at a calm state, there will be a shot of the boy by himself or answering to a knock on the door, this is the rising action of the story. There will be a shot of the sister looking devastated and searching for her brother(2) there will also be clues, this is to be compatible with the mystery genre. A clue that will be added to the thumbnail is the boy's the brothers shoe on the floor.

- Both of the characters facial expressions portray distress, from the suspense, the audience may get the idea that the characters are going through conflict.
