Chris Van Allsburg

This book is both adventure and fantasy, because the board game does stuff that cannot happen in real life. It is a picture book, but an advanced one.

Parents are out for the evening and two young kids need something fun to do. Two kids find a board game on a walk. They bring it home and start to play. One important rule that was mentioned in the instructions was: once game is started, it must be ended. But the game takes a crazy turn.

One reason you should read this book is that it has a lot of suspense. The suspense is very exciting and makes you want to read more.

Another thing is that the story has two movies to go with it. Jumanji and jumanji return of the jungle.

Lastly, the emotion of the characters were shown well because of the author's illustrations and writing.

based on the film written by Melissa Mathison

This book is a different form of fantasy, sci-fi! This is not realistic fiction because it has aliens. This is a very easy kindergarten read.

It's a pizza and games night at home, but the little boy hears a noise in the shed. He heads out and finds a little alien. He brings him home and starts to make friends with him, while the radars are leading scientists closer. He is feeling at home, while the scientists are getting closer.

Firstly, this book is easy. it's perfect for kindergarten teachers to read to their class, there are only a few words per page.

Secondly, it's a good role model of friend ship. One part E.T. helps him with his cut.

Lastly, the illustrations are very matching. the text looks just like the drawing.

The cemetery is a safe home for Magrit. when she was a little kid, she built a friend. her friend was made with bones cans and sticks from around the cemetery. He would talk to her and give her advice, but it was only her mind. he would sit on-top of the chapel and watch over the cemetery. She was not planning on leaving. A stork came over the cemetery and dropped a baby. Her friend wants her to get rid of it, but she falls in love. Will her and her friend grow apart? What will Magrit do?

One reason you should read this book is because it has beautiful writing. there are a lot of amazing adjectives that paint a picture for the reader.

Michael Lawrence

This is a fantasy chapter book, about 120 pages long. This book is a grade 1&2 level. this is fantasy because it contains witches, giants and magical cats.

You have heard of Jack, the boy who killed the giant. The giant killer. well, the Jack in this story is a bit different, because this jack is a giant. Jack isn't a very tough and giantly giant, he was more of a DIY cooking, knitting and other type giant. That made it hard to do a lot of things.

Firstly, this book is a perfect first chapter book. This book has a lot of pictures and the text is not so small.

Another thing is that the book shows to be yourself. the giant was breaking a stereotype.

Lastly, it shows another way of breaking stereotype by the giant making friends with the human.
