Violence against women is a gross violation of their human rights. This violence is found and spread all over the world. It does not matter what kind of social and economic well-being has a woman since all of them can suffer from physical, psychological, sexual  and domestic violence. And this problem has to finish. We have chosen this item because of its importance. Besides, we are women and we must achieve respect.

It is unbelievable how this man not only hit his wife, but he also put his own daughter inside a washing-machine. He could have been able to kill them both. His wife suffered from a head trauma and his daughter was at hospital almost a month. Luckily, he is in prison but his daughter suffers from lungs edema and his wife has scars of this violent attack on her face.

We cannot believe how extreme this assaults can be. There is neither limit nor regret into the mind of a violent.

CHIARA´S MURDER

This is the macabre story of a 14-year-old girl who lived in Rufino, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. She was murdered by her boyfriend last week. Her name was Chiara Paez who had been expecting a child at the time of her death.

Her boyfriend, whose name was Manuel, confessed killing her when he found out she was pregnant. Police have arrested him and four of his relatives which confessed they help him to cover up the body and the murder. Manuel buried Chiara’s body in his own house after hitting her until she died. Moreover, he and his family, grandparents and his mother, had eaten a barbeque in the backyard where the body was buried.

We know that Chiara is not the only woman who had been murdered in Argentina. She and her boyfriend were another case. Once more a very young girl was killed. One more time a woman suffers from violence.

Sometimes, when we know about this cases, is too late and we have to regret another death. We expect this to stop at some point and we, women, could live in a peaceful world with less violence.

This song was written in 1927 by Enrique Santos Discépolo. We can realise that violence against women is an old-fashion item. There are too many ways to denigrate a woman. Although he did not react violently against her, the writer of this song described his ex-girlfriend with mocking and cruel words, for instance ‘old wreck’, after ten years of their separation.

The recipient of this song probably have noticed that the lyrics were written for her. Therefore, this is a clear act of psychological violence. Many times, this type of violence is worst than pshysical, since it can make the woman feel without an exit. Most of the times, these cases end in suicide.

Violence against women is not a simple issue. We think the government and the police have to do something about this, such as create new laws. We are getting used to hear, watch and observe violence against women everywhere. It does not matter what kind of woman you are, we suffer from this problem frequently. Degradation of any kind has to be combated.

However, since we witness that there are more and more femicides, we strongly believe that there is an option to this. Our families, friends and society have to speak out and stand against violence of any kind. If all of us show our disapproval, powerful people should have to do something about it.
