Over the last thirty years, the rate of childhood obesity has more than tripled. The childhood obesity epidemic is a serious public health problem that increases morbidity, mortality and has substantial long term economic and social costs. According to studies, 77 percent of obese children become obese adults, increasing their risk of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke and cancer.</div>]]></description>
